Scope of work: DesignFit was tasked with designing a cutting-edge façade solution for a commercial building project in Westminster, Maryland. The project aimed to create a visually appealing, energy-efficient, and high-performance glass façade using Kawneer's innovative curtain wall, window, and door systems.

Design and Materials Selection:

Kawneer Curtain Wall System: A bespoke curtain wall system was designed to meet the specific requirements of the project, incorporating a combination of fixed and operable glazing.

High-Performance Glass: Low-E glass with advanced coatings was selected to optimize thermal performance and reduce energy consumption.

Aluminium Profiles: Durable and weather-resistant aluminium profiles were used to create a sleek and minimalist aesthetic.
Addressing Design Challenges:

Complex Geometry: The project involved intricate geometric shapes and varying façade orientations, requiring careful design and engineering. Kawneer's flexible system solutions allowed for precise customization to accommodate the unique design requirements.

To ensure accurate fabrication and installation, detailed fabrication drawings were created, including:

Pressed Metal: Precision-engineered pressed metal components were designed to connect the curtain wall elements and provide structural support.
